This limited edition box set includes piano solo and small chamber recordings that Ashkenazy personally selected as his favorites from the many discs in Decca's catalogue. Also included are many if not all of the songs written by Sergei Rachmaninoff, with Elisabeth Söderström, soprano.

Unfortunately, the box itself has seen better days. It looks like it was dropped on one of the upper corners, and there's a bad ding in the box, and the opposite corner is partially split. However, the lower box is sound and solid. I have checked all of the CDs and they all play without a problem, so it's just a cosmetic issue. This sells elsewhere for $150-170 in used condition, so there's a significant discount for the dinged box.
