Those who know, know. For the rest here's the backstory; original pressing from 1977 of this very rare lp, edition of 100, handmade/pasted covers. The band is Vertical Slit, the lp is entitled Slit & Pre Slit. Main man behind it, Jim Shepard. Of the 100 pressed, about a quarter of the pressing were given to folks like, John Cale, David Bowie, Robert Fripp, Peter Hamill, etc. Which left about 75 for the record buying public. Few copies-other than the celebrity promo's-ever made it out of Columbus, Oh (home to the band). This copy was purchased from Shepard in the late 80's by a friend who wishes to remain anonymous. It has been played perhaps a half dozen times since then, is in excellent condition & plays great. Jacket is hand pasted & in excellent condition as well. I tried getting photos of the labels, but the black ink on red paper just wasn't transferring very well. If you really need photo's, let me know. Needless to say they are original.Runoff grooves read 'Musicol 102553/54' then the initals, 'JH" most likely for John Hull, who cut the record. A real one of a kind lp; personal, stark, psychedelic, progressive. A Be-Bop Deluxe cover as well as one by Lou Reed. Lot's of instrumental work on here that's nascent & would later be used for other work. Not one your likely to see ever again. All buyers must pay for insurance on this item, hence, 4$ shipping isn't in the cards. I'm not trying to gouge anyone, but I don't want the record damaged or lost, so SERIOUS BIDS ONLY, Thanks.
