Between 1958 and 1964, RCA introduced and brand new recording and playback system that would eventually become the fairly common 8-track cartridge, but the originals looked more like a GIANT conventional cassette...at 7-inches long, they didn't make much of an impact on the marketplace! Still these two survived somehow and are available for auction (stamped with the original retail price, $7.95). Later, toward the end, RCA licensed the patents to Bell Sound.
