78 rpm: Okeh 8623 Duke Ellington and his Orchestra The Mooche/Hot and Bothered 1928

This Okeh show cases the talents of one of the twentieth century’s great jazz musicians and personalities. Arranger, composer, pianist, band leader, Duke Ellington (1899-1974) did it all and I had the pleasure of seeing him in person at a concert at the Des Moines Art Center in the summer of 1964. I remember it well! “The Mooche” and “Hot and Bothered” were recorded October 1, 1928. Rim chip NIG, light scratches, wear. Condition V++
