On the MAGNIFICENT Black and Gold Parlophone Label this is the Rare STEREO version of The Beatles FIRST UK Album, considered the most collectable UK Beatles album of all time. With only 900 reported to have been pressed, one can only imagine how many are actually in existence today.
Certainly VERY FEW in this condition, and if that’s not enough, adding to the DESIRABILITY, the SOUND QUALITY of this album is SUPERB. Please Please Me was the band’s DEBUT UK album. These are usually badly damaged or unplayable. But not this one.
On the Phenomenal BLACK with GOLD Print PARLOPHONE Label, with the DICK JAMES MUSIC Publishing credits for the tracks Please Please Me, I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Do You Want to Know a Secret and There’s a Place.

The HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl LP comes in its ORIGINAL Polythene lined ‘Use Emitex…; inner bag in excellent condition, and the album is housed in an ORIGINAL Laminated ERNEST J DAY Flip Back Sleeve, printed with a large stereo to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and Angus McBean to the bottom right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
The Original ‘Use Emitex…’ Polythene Lined Inner Bag is in excellent condition. There are NO seam splits, NO tearing and NO handwriting to the inner bag. A LOVELY CLEAN, UNDAMAGED example.
This is a fine Original Ernest J Day Please Please Me Laminated STEREO sleeve. Most suffer from a lot of wear and tear, however, this one has survived all these years. It is FIRM and still retains its DEEP GLOSS and VIVID COLOURS. There is slight rubbing on the corners and the only major defect is that the previous owner has written her name neatly on the back. The edges of the sleeve have minimal shelfwear. There are small corner bumps to the corners. The Reverse Panel of the sleeve is in good condition, with the odd light stain. The bottom flipback shows some light wear – nothing serious. Please check the photos.
CORRECT FIRST STATE SLEEVE WITH THE ANGUS McBEAN PHOTO CREDIT PRINTED TO THE FAR BOTTOM RIGHT.
On the front cover where the sleeve states in blue text.. Love me do and 12 other song(S). The Last (S) of songs should be directly in line with the begining of the P in the (P)hoto by angus mcbean credit ...Later sleeves have the angus mcbean credit further to the left. This came from a recent bereavement and had one owner from new.
The machine stamped matrix and stampers are:
MATRIX SIDE ONE: YEX 94-1
MATRIX SIDE TWO: YEX 95-1
TZ tax code embossed on side two label
The thick heavyweight vinyl has some light fine surface marks, that do not affect play. It plays great, with just occasional crackle.
Both sides have a beautiful shine.
There is no greying or dullness to the grooves. The sound quality is of great clarity with a crisp sound. I have carefully played both sides on superior equipment through headphones and it sounds amazing. There is just light crackle, but does not detract from the fantastic sound. You can actually sit down and enjoy the LP, which surely is the point of owning an LP. Some examples are unplayable, and with bad labels, but NOT this one!
It plays free from any distortion... with NO SKIPS, NO CLICKS, NO JUMPS.... The AUDIO is loud and clear with just minimal crackling.
Both labels are clean and the sparkling gold text remains clear and unfaded. There are no stickers, no writing and no damage to the labels. no sticker residue.
It is exactly as it was presented to us. This has NOT been put together from different sources. It's the very item that the previous owner bought in 1963.
I WOULD SAY 90 % OF THESE STEREO LPs ARE IN BATTERED CONDITION .
Please study the photographs that I have added. I have tried to show any defects as best as I can.
Great investment piece so don't miss out!! Getting harder and harder with each passing year to locate in decent shape
