Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.
Anyway, let's continue with weird LP titled The Rolling Stones "Only Rock & Roll" released in 1981 as part of the syndicated radio program Rock & Religion (Show No. 139 - 140)
Rock & Religion was a syndicated radio program based in Sacramento, California. The program began in 1977 and ran through 1981. The show was produced by Mary Neely and hosted by Neely and Michael Roe. The show, which focused on spiritual themes in rock music, featured music and interviews from artists like Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, the Who and others. (Wikipedia)
This record contains two full episodes of the program which aired on January 25th and February 1st 1981. The episodes are titled The Rolling Stones "Only Rock & Roll? part 1 is program number RR139 on side 1 of the LP and and part 2 RR140 is on side two)
This LP was only issued to radio stations that broadcast the weekly series. The record was never available for sale to the general public and most copies were probably tossed out after broadcast.
The LP comes in its original cover but does not have cue sheets.
Condition: The LP has a tiny pressing flaw on side one that causes the record go get stuck in one spot during play.
Otherwise the LP has a few light marks that are visible when inspected under a bright spotlight that cause occasional very light surface noise when played. The cover has no seam splits, writing, rips, tears, cut out marks or other flaws.
I grade on a stricter scale than Goldmine (at least the watered down version that seems to exist here on eBay) I will take the time to describe any flaws on both the cover and record itself rather than give a letter grade that will mean something different to seemingly every record buyer and seller.
Sorry if the photos above appear washed out...this is caused by the camera flash...the colors are brighter and bolder in person.
Please feel free to email with any questions but keep in mind that unless there is a "Buy It Now" price listed above, I will not respond to any questions or offers to end an auction early...Thanks for your understanding!
The fine print:
Payment is due within three days after end of the auction. I only accept payment through Paypal - if you do not have a Paypal account, please email me BEFORE bidding to inquire about alternative payment methods.
Due to overwhelming requests, I generally ship domestic packages by Media Mail. However, please keep in mind that while Media Mail is the cheapest shipping method, it is also the slowest. Media Mail can take several weeks or MORE to arrive. Media Mail shipping within the United States is $4.00 including mandatory Delivery Confirmation.
I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. The $4.00 covers between one and two albums. Additional albums (three and up) are an additional .50 cents each. Please wait for an invoice from me as the Paypal system does not calculate the combined shipping.
Overseas shipping is by Air Mail only. Shipping for one LP to Canada is $15.50 and everywhere else in the world is $23.00. Overseas shipping is by regular air mail and can take anywhere from one to four weeks to arrive. I do combine shipping on overseas purchases - I will send an invoice with the combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one LP.
Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.
All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. LP will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.
Thanks for looking and good luck!
