Bob Dylan Blonde On Blonde early 1970s EX+/EX+

Bob Dylan Blonde On Blonde CBS 66012

Disc 1 Sddp 66012 A3/ with a second 66012 A3 crossed out, t here is no matrix number on side 2.
Disc two C4/D2

Early 1970s cross over: last of the original sleeves, ' Claudia Cardinale’s picture was later removed. First of the O range and yellow “sunrise” labels which differs from the later 1975 (or later) re-issues. Another redeeming feature is B2: "Stuck Inside of Mobile With Thee" on sleeve, "Memphis Blues Again" on label. With the original inner gatefold sleeve with different orange/yellow CBS labels from the other two 1970s releases - the catalogue number has returned to "CBS Sddp 66012" and the album title, Bob's name and the record number are above the centre hole. The songs are copyrighted to Big Ben Music and B. Feldman. Blonde on blonde label configurations can be found on http://www.searchingforagem.com/1960s/

Blonde on Blonde was released in 1966. Interestingly neither Bob Dylan’s name nor the title of the album appears on the sleeve. The actual month of release is also disputed. A date of 16 May 1966 is given by some sources, but this is disputed by many contemporaries, who think it was actually released no earlier than June 1966 or even mid-July. In "Mojo" 272, May 2016, Michael Simmons says re "Blonde On Blonde" "For some reason, no one can nail for sure the exact date the album was released, but Dylan archivist Mitch Blank reckons that, based on Columbia Records logs, it must have been June 20 in the USA., some weeks later in the UK..." bobdylan.com release date was revised from 16 May 1966 to 20 Jun 1966, but is now just "1966"

No rips, splits or writing, just light signs of age related wear, couple of light creases (no laminate lift) these covers were extremely well made (see photos) graded EX/EX+

Original inner sleeves (not 100% sure) patent Nos 1,125,555, light creasing only EX-

Labels: Original grooved CBS orange and yellow “sunrise” labels, clean (see photos) EX/EX+

Vinyl: Visually all four sides retain original gloss - couple of very light wispy hairlines caused by sleeve removal under light only graded EX+ almost knocking on the door of NM-

Audio: Nice clear sound, audio separation, plays through clean, no crackle, pips, pops or nasty surprises - nothing of which interferes with listening pleasure - graded EX+

With regards to age, I do not regard ‘good for age’ as a condition. Condition is primarily care related.

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or in this case a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected (or should you not agree with my grading) please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument. Feedback: On receiving goods please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise kindly leave positive feedback and I will do likewise on receipt - thank you.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
